The ITRASS Department works towards re-establishing contact between family members who have been separated by war, conflict or disaster. The ITRASS Department also provides support and assistance to individuals and families who are seeking asylum in Australia. The Household Goods Program is part of the ITRASS department. Volunteers provide practical settlement assistance to asylum seekers and recently arrived refugees. Household Good program volunteers provide practical assistance to refugees and asylum seekers by assisting them to set up a homes, by collecting and distributing donated household items. These items, donated by the public, are provided to asylum seekers and refugees in hardship, free of charge.
