We need you!
Red Cross Stores have more than 4,500 fabulous volunteers who help our stores to run. Without them, we wouldn't be able to save 450 tonnes of clothing from landfill per year, or raise money to help fund Red Cross' humanitarian activities around the world.
There are lots of reasons people volunteer in Red Cross Stores
- "I was looking for a fun way to spend some free time"
- "I'd like to get some retail experience to help me get a job"
- "I'm new in town and want to make friends"
- "Now that I'm retired, I'd like to help out a worthwhile cause"
- "My English is not so great, volunteering helps me to improve"
- "I love recycle shopping so it's great to get the volunteer's discount!"
Any of these sound like you?
"I joined the Orange store a year ago to get some work experience because I'm studying a retail certificate. I love it because every day is different and you get to talk to people and learn new skills."
- Wendy, Orange
"I've recently retired and only just started here in the store. It's great getting out of the house for a day a week and dealing with the public."
- Helen, Broome
"This is my 10th year volunteering in the store! I come two days a week to sort clothing, help with storage and moving things around the shop. I just love the camaraderie and working with lots of different people. There's always lots to do."
- Dez, Hampstead Gardens
