Welcome to Sydney

Australian Red Cross is proud to host the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement's 2013 International Meetings in Sydney.

From 9-18 November over 1,000 delegates from 189 countries will come together for a series of high level international talks, humanitarian speakers and seminars, cultural performances, exhibits and outdoor events.

On 11 November up to 800 lively Red Cross supporters will form a giant human formation of the Red Cross Red Crescent emblem on the Opera House steps. Find out how you can join us.

Each day there is a free public exhibition at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre at Darling Harbour, the Humanitarian Village - Where We Connect. (11-18 November, closed 16 November). It's the perfect place for delegates, volunteers, Red Cross members and the public to interact, connect and learn more about the work of the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement.

From 12-18 November the official Red Cross Red Crescent General Assembly and Council of Delegates meetings will take place at Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, where delegates from National Societies around the globe will debate and decide the future of global humanitarian action.

For the first time, young humanitarians will have an official voice at the Red Cross Red Crescent international meetings. The 2013 Global Youth Conference will be held over two days in Sydney, where 200 youth delegates will endorse the first ever Global Youth Engagement Strategy to present to the General Assembly meeting. It's an exciting moment in the 150 year history of the Movement.

A one day Humanitarian Forum will feature a range of eminent speakers discussing the humanitarian challenges of our times, including current conflicts such as Syria. The forum is hosted by ABC presenter Leigh Sales and transcripts will be published online.

It's an exciting program of humanitarian action. Connect with us!
