Patient Transport Convenor Volunteer

We need people to lead and coordinate a team of volunteer drivers to transport people to essential medical appointments.

Our Patient Transport Service provides transport for eligible clients with essential medical appointments. The service takes clients from home to and from appointments and is provided by volunteers driving Red Cross fleet vehicles.

You will be responsible for receiving and assessing client referrals for transport to medical appointments in accordance with policy and procedure. You will coordinate the volunteers driver roster and maintain accurate records of all trips undertaken. Additionally you will assist with the recruitment, selection and appointment of new volunteer drivers.

To become a Patient Transport Convenor you will possess strong organisational skills, a high level of customer service,  communication skills and demonstrated reliability. Additionally you will have empathy for client needs. Basic computer skills would be desirable.
