Emergency relief

The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement is a lead player in responding to disasters wherever they occur around the globe. The Australian Red Cross, through its links with the International Committee of the Red Cross and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, plays a major role in that response.

How are donations to International Appeals spent?
Appeal donations are used in one or more of the following ways:

- to fund the deployment of specialist aid workers to the region to assist in the Red Cross/Red Crescent response

- to support an Australian Red Cross program in the affected area

- to support the work of our Red Cross/Red Crescent partners: the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies; the International Committee of the Red Cross; or another National Red Cross/Red Crescent Society, which could include the Red Cross/Red Crescent Society in the affected country
