Australian Red Cross is committed to building healthier and safer communities. Placing people at the heart of our work, we help to create resilient communities and build strong regional Red Cross partners.
The majority of our international programs are run in the Asia Pacific region. This diverse region is home to almost two thirds of the world's population. It is prone to natural disasters and has areas of entrenched poverty and disadvantage.
Asia region
Our programs in the Asia region focus on community health, preparing for and recovering from disasters and developing the skills of our regional partners.
Pacific region
Working with our Pacific Red Cross partners, Australian Red Cross is helping to build community health, access to clean water and sanitation, and working with communities -- alongside trained volunteers -- to prepare for and respond to disasters.

A school lunch program run by Kenya Red Cross in the drought-affected north east is encouraging children to come back to school by providing supplementary feeding in 66 schools with support from Australian Red Cross and funding from AusAID.
Other regions
Australian Red Cross also assists in development and emergency assistance projects in countries outside the Asia Pacific region when a need is established.
