Tsunami Response Kit for Young People and Educators

More than 22,000 Red Cross Red Crescent personnel have responded to the tsunami emergency. Red Cross aid has reached more than 1 million people.

It will take years for affected communities to recover from such a large scale emergency.  Watching this disaster unfold, and seeing the plight of vulnerable people has had an effect on everyone who has witnessed it - especially children and young people.

The Tsunami Response Teacher's Resource Kit is designed to assist education providers and young people understand the nature and scope of this recent disaster.

The kit offers a wide range of activities, ideas, and links to other useful material. As the disaster itself can be distressing, and activities relating to the tsunami may provoke strong emotions, it is important to provide activities that deal with the emotional responses of young people.
