Bushfires Appeal

Australian Red Cross is still accepting donations to assist those affected by the bushfires in Tasmania.

'The first priority for the Bushfires Appeal will be to assist families, small business and communities directly affected by bushfires,' said Dr Ian Burke, Executive Director of Australian Red Cross, Tasmania.

How can you help?

The appeal will only collect financial contributions and you can help by making a secure online donation now.

Donations can also be made by ringing 1800 811 700, by going to any Australian Red Cross regional office in Hobart, Launceston and Burnie, through any branch of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, and at Service Tasmania centres across the state.

Appeal information

Money raised in Tasmania will stay in Tasmania. However Red Cross is involved in supporting other communities in Australia affected by bushfires and may broaden the appeal if the need arises. If this occurs, donors will be given the option of donating to the affected state or territory of their choice.

Australian Red Cross will not deduct more than 10% of any donation for this appeal to cover appeal costs. Should the funds raised exceed the amount required to meet the needs of communities affected, Australian Red Cross will use any excess funds to assist in future disasters in Australia. Any interest earned on donations will be invested back into the appeal.
