The focus of the National Office Archive is on the records of the National Office from the founding of the Australian Red Cross in 1914 through to the present. Some of the most valuable records in the Archive include the complete set of Australian Red Cross Annual Reports, the complete set of National Executive minutes, and Australian Red Cross prisoner of war index cards from World War II.
The Archive receives research queries from Red Cross staff and members in Australia, from international Red Cross Societies, and from general members of the public both within Australia and overseas.
Researchers are welcome to make an appointment with the Archivist to visit the Archive to conduct their own research. Alternatively, for those unable to visit the Archive in Melbourne, the Archivist will complete basic research in reply to researchers' queries.
