Become a Member

When you become a member of Red Cross NSW, you join with millions of other people across the globe who care about the future of humanity. There are three types of membership.
  • Friends of Australian Red Cross are people who dedicate a certain level of annual financial support and choose from four categories.
  • Clubs are often formed by groups of people with a common life aspect, such as age or business interests; or a club may be formed from an existing sporting or social group. The focus is on supporting Red Cross through lifestyle-based activities.
  • Branches consist of people who hold regular and formal meetings to discuss Red Cross projects and services, and raise funds to advance community work in their area.

Clubs and Branches
Form a club

Red Cross clubs are an excellent way to support a worthwhile organisation as well as develop your interests in a social and enjoyable environment with like-minded people.

As a club member you have the opportunity to:
  • Hear about Red Cross community services
  • Discover some exciting volunteer opportunities
  • Be invited to attend Red Cross social functions
  • Have access to Red Cross speakers who have expertise in a range of areas
  • We know that you have valuable knowledge that can enhance the quality of Red Cross services, and with the flexibility given to clubs, you will also be able to influence the way Red Cross is governed.

How to form a club

Get together a group of people who you think might like to be part of the Australian Red Cross. Then contact the membership section of Red Cross to arrange an information session and we'll talk with you about what to do from there. Phone 02 9229 4256, fax 02 9229 4265, or email

Join a branch

There are thousands of Red Cross branch members across NSW.

Branch members raise over $2 million per year for Red Cross, often using innovative means such as fashion shows, garage sales, bingo competitions, street stalls, garden shows and luncheons to raise funds. Some branches operate tea rooms, baby boutiques and second-hand or opportunity shops, thereby supplying further vital funds for Red Cross.

When you become a Red Cross branch member, you join thousands of other people in NSW who care about their community, locally and globally.

If you would like further information about Red Cross branches, contact the Membership Coordinator on phone 02 9229 4256, fax 02 9229 4265, or email nswbranches@redcross.org.au.
