Each year many caring Australians choose to remember Red Cross in their will. Their generosity helps us continue to provide services and programs in communities across NSW.
If you don't have a will we can provide you with the details of accredited solicitors or legal representatives who will assist you in making one for a small fee.
Below is a sample guide providing wording for your will (please discuss it with your legal advisor).
I __________________ give, devise and bequeath unto Australian Red Cross Society for its general purposes, free of all duties, the following: (whichever is applicable)
__________________% of my estate or the residue of my estate
The sum of $______________________________________________
Life Insurance Policy number________________________________
Property (details)___________________________________________
Other (details)______________________________________________
and I direct that the receipt of the Treasurer or other Proper Officer of the Society shall be sufficient discharge to my Executor for the bequest.
The person must sign their Will in front of two witnesses, who will sign at the same time. The lawyer will assist and take party through the process.
Always consult with your lawyer before making your will or codicil.
If you decide to leave a bequest to Red Cross we would appreciate it if you could advise us. All too often we do not get the opportunity to thank people for their generous support. Advising us gives us the chance to thank you in person and discuss with you how we might invest your future generosity.
