Nominations are now open for the Red Cross NSW Divisional Board.
The role of the Divisional Board is an important part of the governance of Red Cross in this State with direct links to the National Board. The Divisional Board currently meets at Red Cross House once a month to consider current issues relating to the activities of Red Cross in New South Wales.
There will be 4 vacancies to be filled on the New South Wales Divisional Board. The newly elected members will serve a two year term from the Divisional Annual General Meeting on October 20th, 2009.
The election process
Nominees for election to the NSW Divisional Board and their nominator and seconder must be current financial Members of Red Cross and be eighteen (18) years of age or older on 1st May 2009. Current staff members of Red Cross are not eligible for nomination.
Nominations must be received at Red Cross House in Sydney by 5pm on Tuesday 30 June, 2009.
Candidates are required to include on the Nomination Form (downloadable below) a statement of no more than 150 words indicating the qualities, skills and experience they believe would make them an effective member of the NSW Divisional Board. This statement will be distributed with the ballot papers.
Ballot papers and the statement of each candidate will be sent to individual Members in mid-August, with a voting deadline in early September.
The results of the election will be announced at the Divisional Annual General Meeting on October 20th, 2009.

In 2008 Tony Cairns, Paul O'Sullivan were re-elected and Maureen Smith was elected. Their two year term continues to the 2010 AGM.
