The Sun Herald City2Surf - 9 August 2009
Run for Red Cross and the Power of Humanity

What is it?

The Sun-Herald City2Surf is a truly iconic Sydney event with a 14km route winding from the CBD to Sydney's famous Bondi Beach. Team entries and fancy dress have become a feature of City2Surf charity fundraising efforts and it's also one of the few sporting events suitable for the whole family.

What you need to do

1. Register

Be part of The Sun-Herald City2Surf Charity Challenge and get your heart racing to help Red Cross support people in need. When you register to run on the City2Surf website, you can create a personalised fundraising page for our charity in just minutes by visiting the Herald Heroes website. F
ollow the easy steps and then email it to your family and friends to gain their support.

2. Select Red Cross as your charity

Once you have registered and created your personalised fundraising page to raise funds for Red Cross, we will contact you, welcome you to the team and answer any questions you may have. We will supply you with a Red Cross Running Kit that will contain everything you need to raise funds and help Red Cross improve the lives of vulnerable people.

3. Start fundraising and training!

Your Red Cross Running Kit will provide you with plenty of ideas on how to fundraise and motivate you to get into training for this amazing challenge. This year organisers of the City2Surf are offering prizes for exceptional fundraising efforts. Visit the City2Surf website for more information.

Why support Red Cross?

By raising funds for Red Cross as a participant in the City2Surf you will help improve the lives of vulnerable people in disadvantaged communities around Australia and the Asia Pacific region.

We provide relief in times of crisis, on the other side of the world when disaster strikes or at home when a personal situation seems insurmountable. Care when it's needed most for people struggling with HIV and elderly Australians living alone. And we show commitment when others turn away, whether it's protection for civilians during conflict, or a safe blood supply thanks to 500,000 Australian voluntary blood donors. Red Cross is there for people in need, no matter who you are, no matter where you live.
