Blackmores Sydney Running Festival - 20 September 2009
Run for Red Cross and the Power of Humanity

What is it?

The Blackmores Sydney Running Festival is a community event giving people the opportunity to raise funds on behalf of a favourite charity, like Red Cross.

What you need to do

1. Register for one of the four events on the Sydney Running Festival website and select Red Cross as your charity.

You can participate in the 4km family fun run, 9km bridge run, 24km half marathon or 42km marathon.

2. Select Red Cross as your charity

Once your choice is registered, Red Cross will contact you, welcome you to the team and answer any questions you may have. We will supply you with a Red Cross Running Kit that will contain everything you need to raise funds and support Red Cross.

3. Start fundraising and training!

Your Red Cross Running Kit will provide you with plenty of ideas on how to fundraise and be part of the Power of Humanity. This year you can 'Run for a Cause' and 'Run for Free'. To be eligible to 'Run for Free', all you need to do is commit to raising a certain amount of funds on behalf of Red Cross through GoFundraise by 5th October 2009 and you will receive a rebate on your entry fee. Alternatively you may wish to donate this rebate to Red Cross and make your fundraising dollar go further.

Why support Red Cross?

By raising funds for Red Cross as a participant in the Blackmores Sydney Running Festival, you will help improve the lives of vulnerable people in disadvantaged communities around Australia and the Asia Pacific region.

We provide relief in times of crisis, on the other side of the world when disaster strikes or at home when a personal situation seems insurmountable. Care when it's needed most for people struggling with HIV and elderly Australians living alone. And we show commitment when others turn away, whether it's protection for civilians during conflict or a safe blood supply thanks to 500,000 Australian voluntary blood donors. Red Cross is there for people in need, no matter where you live, no matter who you are.
