Northern New South Wales flooding
8 January 2008
Heavy rainfall and flash flooding has lashed the Mid and Far North Coast of NSW, with many rivers breaching their banks leaving large areas of land under water. While reports suggest the flooding is beginning to recede, predicted rainfall later this week may compound the isolation and damage of affected families.

We are working hard to assist people affected by the ongoing weather crisis. Our volunteer teams, working with the NSW Department of Community Services and other non-government organisations, have been busy since early morning on January 5 helping to establish four evacuation centres and providing support to flood affected residents.
