Did you know?

Red Cross is well-known for some of its more high profile activities, but did you know that in the last 12 months Australian Red Cross NSW:

  • served over 120,000 breakfasts to school children who would otherwise go hungry;
  • helped 91 young homeless mothers and their babies
  • made over 91,000 visits to long term patients, providing emotional support and companionship through the Cosmetic Care program;
  • has 3200 trained volunteers on standby ready to assist local communities in a disaster;
  • made 540,000 reassuring and comforting phone calls to the elderly, isolated and medically dependent;
  • helped to reunite families who have lost contact through war or natural disaster;
  • found loving homes for over 50,000 knitted Trauma Teddies, given to people of all ages suffering a trauma or other crisis.
