John Fries: Chairman NSW John Fries joined the board of Red Cross NSW in 2000 and was Honorary Treasurer from 2003. He was elected as Chairman in 2007. He is also the Chairman of Fox Invest Limited and is a Director of Strathfield Group and Viscopy Limited. His last full time employment was as Finance Director of Vodafone Australia Ltd. With a background in finance and administration, John has held director positions with public listed companies including Tribeca Learning Limited, McIlwraith McEacharn/Oakbridge and Great Northern Mining N.L. John holds an Honours degree in Commerce, is a Fellow of the Australian Society of Certified Practising Accountants, and a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He is married with two daughters.

Lewis Kaplan: Executive Director NSW Before being appointed Executive Director of Red Cross NSW in August 2006, Lewis Kaplan was CEO of Alzheimer's Australia NSW for seven years, and previous to this was Executive Director of the Council on the Ageing (NSW) through the 1990s. Earlier in his career Lewis worked for Save the Children Fund Australia, designing and establishing its first Primary Health Care programs in a number of developing countries. He also held positions with the World Health Organisation's Global Smallpox Eradication Program in Ethiopia and Bangladesh. Lewis has been a visiting lecturer in gerontology, international public health and community development at a number of New South Wales universities and holds university qualifications in Social Anthropology and Health Sciences. He is married with 3 children.
