National Blood Donor Week recognises the significant contribution that Australia's voluntary, unpaid donors make to the community, in Australia and overseas.
In 2007, National Blood Donor Week is held from 10-16 September. The week will be launched nationally with an event at Parliament House, attended by Red Cross director of national operations Dale Cleaver.
There will also be a variety of local celebrations.
Internationally, we thank three 'blood donor angels' in the Aceh province of Indonesia, who together have donated blood almost 300 times between them and are spreading the word that the donating blood regularly save lives.
