Landmark has become a National Community Partner of Australian Red Cross, with the partnership agreement forming a major component of Landmark's longer-term community support platform. Landmark currently plays an active role in supporting the rural and regional communities across Australia through a variety of sponsorship programs and community grants.
Landmark's relationship with Red Cross has evolved over the course of 2011, beginning with a donation in January of US$100,000 by Agrium Inc, Landmark's parent company, to assist with Red Cross' flood relief efforts. In 2011, further fundraising efforts by Landmark generated another $210,000 donation for Red Cross for general disaster relief.
Landmark has been part of rural Australia for 150 years. Today, Landmark is Australia's largest distributor of merchandise and fertiliser, with 2000 employees servicing 100,000 clients in its national network of around 400 locations. Many of Landmark's clients, suppliers and employees currently support Red Cross in some capacity throughout rural Australia as volunteers and blood donors or even beneficiaries of Red Cross' work.
Landmark felt, therefore, that it was an important to establish a formal partnership with Red Cross and to continue making a substantial commitment to help vulnerable people across Australia everyday and in times of emergency.
