Reaching Vulnerable People Around the World
Reaching Vulnerable People Around the World was first launched in 2010, as an international initiative between Land Rover and Red Cross, to assist Red Cross in projects around the globe. These include providing remote communities with access to water and sanitation, health and social care programs and helping communities prepare for disasters. So far the partnership has helped more than 700,000 vulnerable people worldwide.
Building on the success of the award winning partnership 'Reaching Vulnerable People Around the World', Land Rover has extended its support of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) for a further five years, with the aim of giving £15 million worth of support and reaching thousands of beneficiaries by 2018.
The Australian arms of Land Rover and Red Cross have been working closely together on a multi-tiered support program to reach and assist local communities and individuals to be better prepared, better connected and more resilient when emergencies happen. Land Rover Australia provides a fleet of vehicles and on-going financial support which assists the Emergency Services - Preparedness team across Australia.
Michael Winkler, Jaguar Land Rover Australia Managing Director, said: "We at Land Rover Australia are proud of our long association with the Australian Red Cross. Earlier this year we committed to continue our support of the excellent work in the field of disaster relief and preparedness by extending our partnership for a further five years."
