Winter Appeal

Our changing climate is already affecting vulnerable people, both physically and emotionally.
You can help them by donating today.

You can support the Winter Appeal by making a secure online donation now, or by signing up to our regular monthly giving program.

You can help ease people's pain and emotional suffering.

Events like cyclones, floods and other natural disasters can cause real emotional suffering. For example we have seen increases in depression and anxiety in drought-stricken areas of Australia.

You can support initiatives like our Talk Out Loud mental health project, which targets youth living in rural, drought-affected areas and encourages them to talk about mental health issues and to seek help early.

'Just realising that I wasn't the only one feeling this way made my depression a bit easier to handle. It was good to know I wasn't completely alone.' -- 19 year old Talk Out Loud participant.

By making a donation to the Red Cross Winter Appeal you can help young people in rural, drought-affected areas.

You can help young people handle depression and anxiety by making a donation today.

You can help people adapt to the effects of climate change.

As temperatures rise and rainfall patterns shift, mosquitoes carrying malaria and dengue fever (diseases which already kill an estimated three million people a year) are likely to spread into new territories.

Other climate-related health risks, like food poisoning and salmonella look set to rise with higher temperatures, poor sanitation and hygiene.

In the Maldives where people estimate they have only 20 years or so before many of their homes are engulfed by the sea, Red Cross have helped to build a new community on one of the 'safer' islands on higher ground.

By making a donation to the Red Cross Winter Appeal you can help provide families with access to clean water and sanitation.

Your donation can provide one family with access to clean water and sanitation.
