Sydney gave a giant welcome on Monday to our 1,000 Red Cross Red Crescent international visitors at the Sydney Opera House.
Eight hundred Red Cross supporters had a blast making a spectacular human formation of the red cross red crescent emblems on the steps of the Sydney Opera House. The mood was electric and even the rain did not dampen their buoyant spirits.
Human emblems have become a Red Cross tradition, and Sydney turned out a proudly Australian Red Cross symbol of humanity and volunteer spirit to share with the world. What a wonderful way to start the week-long Statutory Meetings!
Australian Red Cross CEO Robert Tickner joined the crowd as they transformed themselves into a giant Red Cross and Red Crescent.
A big thank you to our volunteers - it's amazing what the power of humanity can do!
