Donating blood saves lives, simple as that.
The Australian Red Cross Blood Service is always looking for people to help by donating blood and plasma. Currently, one in three people will need blood, yet only one in 30 will donate.
Young people can help, as long as they are at least 16 years old (those in QLD and WA will need parental consent if under 18 years of age). For more information on whether you can donate visit the Australian Red Cross Blood Service website.
Why not take up a Blood Service Challenge? A Blood Service Challenge is a friendly competition held between two or more groups who aim to make the most donations. Blood Challenges are a great way to motivate your school group to donate blood and help us save more lives. If one single donation can save three lives, imagine how many more could be saved if your group donated together?
Simply register your group online, and encourage donors to join Club Red online so their donations count towards your group tally.
