For almost 100 years, the Commonwealth Bank has been an essential part of the Australian community. Being part of a community means giving a hand in times of need. Through social welfare partnerships with some of the country's most respected charitable organisations, Commonwealth Bank helps to support everyday Australians when they need it most.
For many years Commonwealth Bank has partnered with Australian Red Cross during disasters, mobilising call centres and calling for donations from members of the public through their branch networks. Now Commonwealth Bank has extended their support by pledging $250,000 and 100 staff volunteers to support the Telecross Program, a flagship social inclusion program for people who are isolated and at risk of an accident or illness that may go unnoticed and enjoy a friendly check in every day.
Commonwealth Bank has also committed to make 2012 staff blood donations in 2012, with the clear message that with every blood donation, three lives may be saved.
