First National Foundation assists flood appeal

More than $40,000 was raised by First National Foundation through a fundraising appeal held in 2011 to assist communities affected by the Queensland and Victorian floods.

First National Foundation launched its Australian Floods Appeal at the height of crisis, ultimately raising over $40,000 to help flood affected communities.

First National Real Estate launched an Emergency Tenants Flood Crisis Hotline and issued urgent media releases to spread the message about the support on offer. A volunteer agent register was launched and quickly received 35 volunteers within 24 hours ready to help answer phones from distressed property owners and tenants.

The First National Foundation Board resolved that the exceptional circumstances surrounding the summer floods of 2011 warranted that funds be made available for direct distribution within the communities of First National members hardest hit.
