Bank of Queensland (BOQ) and its staff is entering the fifth year of support for the Centre for Young people (CYP) in Brisbane, providing financial assistance, helping to deliver life skills workshops and supporting Red Cross' Night Cafe.
BOQ is a National Unity Partner of Australian Red Cross with a financial commitment of $100,000 in support of the CYP Life skills program. This programme takes a holistic approach to homelessness by integrating ongoing personal support, life skills events and access to learning, training and employment opportunities to provide hope for a brighter future.
Life skills events have included a 'Masterchef' cook-off in which pairs of young people and BOQ staff members teamed up to compete in a challenge to prepare and serve healthy, affordable food to a panel of Red Cross and BOQ judges.
BOQ staff members also donate blood as part of their ongoing support for Red Cross.
