Help for asylum seekers in Australia

If you are an asylum seeker or refugee in Australia we have programs and support services that can help you. It doesn't matter how you arrived in Australia.

How we can help

Wherever you are in Australia, Red Cross can help you. We have offices in every state and territory.

We have programs that can help you connect with your local community. We can help you learn new skills, meet new people and learn about your new community.

We can also help you find volunteer work and we can help in an emergency if you have no other support.

Visit one of our offices to find out more about how we can help you.

Asylum seeker assistance

If you are in financial hardship and have a bridging visa or have applied for a protection visa, we can assess whether you are able to apply to the government for help under the Status Resolution Support Service (SRSS).

Under this program you can receive financial support, health services and counselling.

We can help you apply for this program and we can help you to get your documents translated for the application.

For more information about whether you qualify for this program please send us a message using the contact form below.
