Maggie Beer

Maggie Beer AM is a self-taught cook, food author and premium food producer. After moving to the Barossa Valley in 1978, Maggie and her husband Colin operated the acclaimed Pheasant Farm Restaurant until 1993. Maggie became a much loved TV personality in the popular series The Cook and the Chef. Maggie was selected as Senior Australian of the Year in 2010, and South Australian of the Year 2011 and in 2012 Maggie was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM).

Maggie is a proud supporter of the annual Big Cake Bake fundraiser, and lends her culinary authority to promote our food security programs, which improve access to fresh healthy food for disadvantaged communities and builds school and community gardens. She is a passionate supporter of our programs to help overcome loneliness in the ageing population.
