Emergency Services Training 2010
Thanks for expressing an interest in volunteering with Red Cross Emergency Services (QLD). The last two years have seen a strong push to recruit new volunteers who will ensure the Red Cross in QLD has the capacity to prepare for and respond to emergency events. We are happy to report that this capacity has almost been achieved and as such the concentration of the 2010 recruitment is taking place in Brisbane or particularly vulnerable areas in the regions where we have obligations to communities and partner agencies.

For people interested in learning more about becoming an Emergency Services Volunteer

For those people in Brisbane, Information Sessions have been developed and will be facilitated in Brisbane. The sessions will provide participants with general information about volunteering with the Red Cross, the emergency services context and the role of Red Cross Emergency Services Volunteers in the field. Experienced staff and volunteers will be on hand to explain the application process and help answer any questions should participants decide to join as an Emergency Services Volunteer. Once participants have attended the information session and submitted the application paperwork they will then be invited to attend the Personal Support Training (relevant to Brisbane applicants only). The information session are being held on these dates and located at Red Cross Milton Office, 49 Park Road, Milton.

Note: Red Cross staff in Brisbane are encouraged to attend the Information Session prior to attending the Personal Support Training, however it is not a requirement.
