Disaster relief in Mackay
  • Today, five Red Cross outreach teams are going door to door in flood affected areas to check on the health and well being of residents.
  • Teams trained and experienced in working with Indigenous people have been sent to flood affected Aboriginal, Torres Strait and South Sea Islander communities.
  • Red Cross wrkers are managing the evacuation centre which housed 21 people last night.
  • We are providing personal support to flood affected residents across three recovery centres on a daily basis.
