Personal Helpers and Mentors Program
Is your life severely affected by a mental illness? Maybe we can help you...
About the service

Personal Helpers and Mentors is a new program designed to support people whose lives are severely affected by a significant mental illness.

Using a team work approach, the case manager and a volunteer support the person suffering from a mental illness on their recovery journey.

An individual recovery plan is developed and may include:

  • how to better manage day to day activities such as housekeeping, budgeting and how to use public transport
  • help to maintain positive relationships with family and friends
  • getting involved in community activities of interest
  • connecting with other services or programs that assist with the recovery journey, such as drug and alcohol counselling, housing assistance or medical support

Where does this service operate?

Rockhampton and surrounding areas.

Who can register for this service?

People who suffer from a mental illness and are over the age of 16 may be eligible for this program. A clinical diagnosis of a mental illness is not required to join the program. We will help obtain a clinical diagnosis and other health support as needed.
